Numerical Study on the Change of Smoke Layer Length in Large Space Building Fires

    • Smoke filling in a full-scale terminal hall in airport was studied by using numerical modeling.Resultsshow hot smoke layer development in large space building fires is mainly depended on the fire source power and the size of large space. Moreover, with the increase of the heat release rate of fire, the velocity of ceiling jet and ceiling temperature will increase, the stable smoke height will decrease. Numerical results can be used to guide the fire safety design of large space buildings.
