    The Application of Orthogonal Experiment to the Composition Design of Lead-free Brass

    • The composition design of lead-free brass was designed by means of an orthogonal experiment.The impacts of tensile strength,dezincification corrosion resistance and cutting capability from the contents of Sb,Ce and Ti have been investigated.Through orthogonal experiments optimum carbonization technology was established:optimum composite was Cu-0.8Sb-0.4Ce-0.3Ti(wt%),and influence power was Sb>Ce>Ti.The tensile strength,yield strength,elongation,variation of area and the depth of dezincification corrosion resistance of half-hard brass are:461.7 MPa,213.3 MPa,15.67%,295.4 μm(portrait),and 214.7 μm(landscape orientation) respectively.The brass shows excellent cutting capability.
