Abstract
In order to probe the influence of rubber powder to withstand earthquake performance, the effects of rubber particles treated surface on strength, elastic modulus and damping ratio of concrete were studied. The results show that the weak layer between rubber particles and cement matrix interface is improved by adding interface finishing agent, and the strength of rubberized concrete doesn't decrease significantly when the mixing amount of rubber particles treated surface is below 15%.Damping test of concrete simply supported beam is conducted. The decay rate of acceleration increases with the increasing of mixing amount of rubber particles for concrete members with rubber particles treated surface. In addition, the damping ratio significantly increases with the increasing of mixing amount of rubber particles, and there isn't obvious strength loss with 15% of mixing amount of rubber particles treated surface, elastic modulus decreases to 13%,but damping ratio increases to 34% leading a better seismic performance.
