Pretreatment of Micropolluted Raw Water With Chloramine Enhanced by Potassium Permanganate Composite

    • The combined pre-oxidation process with potassium permanganate composite(PPC)and chloramine is studied on a laboratory scale,in accordance With water quality characteristics of polluted raw water in the A city. The effects of coagulation aid, filtration aid, removal of organic matter, inactivation of pathogenic microbe and reduction of trihalomathanes(THMs)are investigated. It is found that pollutant removal can be effectively enhanced by the combined applications of PPC and chloramine, compared with individual application of chloramine.Turbidity removal rate of settled water and filtered water are raised by 3% and 1% respectively, and index of AUV254 removal rate of settled water is raised by 6% and THMs production of filtered water is reduced by 92%,by adding ρ(PPC)=1.0mg/L.The inactivity efficacy of pathogenic microbes is clearly improved, too.Experimental basis is provided for treatment of micropolluted raw water by this study.
