Research on Person Trip Characteristics and Transportation Improving Suggestions of Quanzhou City

The actual traffic problems, forecast transportation trend and raise improving suggestions from the angle of person trip characteristics have been discussed. Comparing Quanzhou city to others cities with the same scale, some phenomenon that do not conform to person trip characteristics of middle scale cities have been found out, such as higher trip rate, shorter trip distance and higher percentage of individual transportation modes. Based on the future destined scale, master planning and city character of historical and cultural of Quanzhou city, a forecast was made that short distance trips will be predominated in the future and a transportation modes from walking and cycling to bus and car will happen. Some improving suggestions about road construction, transit development and traffic management have been proposed.
