Performance Analysis of the Convergent Networks of Digital Broadcast and Mobile Communication

In order to utilize the convergent networks of broadcast network(such as DVB-T/H)and mobile network(such as GPRS/UMTS)properly and balance the traffic between the two different networks,a system queuing model is proposed and a gain parameter G is introduced to quantify the broadcasting ability of the broadcast network.The performance measures of the end-to-end user request blocking probability is obtained. The impact of the parameters of queue length,user request arrival rate and the decision threshold of user request probability are evaluated.The benefits of the convergent network and how to use convergent network in an efficient way under different user request arrival rate are demonstrated through the simulation.
