Cooperative MIMO-based MAC Design for Wireless Sensor Network

A cooperative MIMO communication technique is proposed based on S-MAC protocol to jointly improve the energy efficiency in wireless sensor networks.In the protocol,the traditional virtual cluster is incorporated in the cooperative MIMO communication.The node between virtual clusters selected corresponding optimal intra-cluster nodes to construct an equivalent MISO system.Then,the authors analyze the energy efficiency of protocol based on energy consumption model.The results show that energy saving is possible and it increases the network lifetime.
