Spectrum Moment Characteristics of 3-D Rough Surface

The authors present a method characterizing the 3-D surface texture and anisotropy by means of the fractional order power spectrum moment. After the experimental analysis on some typical fine machining specimens, the results show that the 3-D machining surface textures can be characterized by the fractional order power spectrum moment, and this new method is reasonable, exact and quantitative.
