Summary of Research Level, Forecasting Methods and Prospect in Seismic Forecasting

At present the research of earthquake forecasting, especially the shor-term forecasting has been the world crux because of insufficient understanding of seismic mechanism. The international seismology field has a drastic controversy on earthquake forecasting. This paper makes a summary on the seismic forecasting in scientific meaning, the current research level at home and abroad, forecasting method and prospect of future seismic forecasting.
