    Decentralized Route Guidance Strategies Considering the Effect of Signalized Intersections

    • Aiming at fixed-time signalized intersections, an approach of traffic state identification and travel time estimation on links at the upstream of the intersections was proposed.Through the approach, the effect of signalized intersections was incorporated into existing decentralized route guidance strategies.A simulation network model was developed based on a point-queue model.The effectiveness of the traffic state identification and travel time estimation was demonstrated on the network model;the performance of the route guidance strategies based on travel time and traffic state were further compared by using the approach.The results show that the strategy based on traffic state could be used to replace the one based on travel time when the update interval is long or the change of traffic demand is rapid.
