On Acid Rain in China: Past, Present and its Future

    • Acid rain pollution in china has grown worse since 1980s. China will join Europe and North America, and become one of the three world regions most seriously hit by acid rains. Acid rain was found mainly in the areas south of the Yangtze River, east of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the Sichuan Basin. There are two main mechanisms in China's acid rain: the regional washing and the middle and long distance transfer of atmosphere pollutants. According to the prediction of precursor emissions, the future acid rain in china may be expanded before the year 2020.
