Degradation of the Typical Pollutants in ABS Resin Wastewater by the Micro-electrolysis

    • In order to decompose and transform the toxic refractory typical pollutants in ABS(acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) resin wastewater, the micro-electrolysis technology was used to pretreat the ABS resin wastewater. The decomposition and transformation of the typical pollutants in ABS resin wastewater was analyzed by GC-MS chromatogram. The results show that the micro-electrolysis can degrade 8 kinds of typical aromatics and organic nitriles efficiently, such as styrene,acetophenone,α,α-dimethylbenzenemethanol,3,3-oxydipropionitrile,3,3′-iminodipropionitrile,3,3′-thiodipropionitrile,3-dimethylaminopropanonitrile and 3-diethylaminopropiononitrile.The TOC removal efficiency and NH3-N generation rate of ABS resin wastewater were 40%-46% and 45%-55%,respectively.And the BOD5/COD ratio was increased from 0.32 to 0.71,the biodegradability of the wastewater was improved.
