Abstract
The ability of immobilized cells for phenol-toxicant biodegradation was examined in a three-phase fluidixed-bed reactor (TFR). Some cellular biological experiments were carried out in laboratory. The phenol-degradation process of free cells (Candida Maltosa 10-4) was observed, and the kinetic parameters were estimated on the basis of the data obtained from experiment and the model set thereafter The experimental results show that allosteric inhibition has an effect over the biodegradation process. The basic kinetic data measured in the relevant experiments lay a good foundation for the future design and application of bioreactors to waste water treatment.
