The FT-IR absorption spectrum of a C60 film on KBr substrate was recorded at room temperature. In addition to four infrared-active F1u modes, seventeen weak peaks were observed. Based upon the group theory analysis, the weak peaks are assigned to the second-order infrared lines of C60. These results indicate there are high anharmonty effects in C60 and minor influences of the intermolecular coupling upon solidification of C60.
