The Literati's Guild——The Cultural Implication in These Club Buildings of Beijing

This paper tries to state the variety of the guild culture, the patterns, composition and meaning of guild buildings, through separate analyzing and comparative studying on the guild buildings such as Shanxi guild, Anhui guild, Huguang guild locating on the three main districts. It gives out its investigation and analysis about the social, historical and natural geographic environments of the buildings based on analyzing the architecture and space features of the club buildings. It points out that houses are not only the building structures, but also complicated blending systems for a series of special purposes. So house construction is a cultural phenomenon. Its external form and organization are greatly influenced by its cultural backgrounds.
