A Study of Stress Intensity Factors in C-Specimens by the Method of Caustics
In this paper, a study has been made for the first time for determining stress intensity factor K1 in the C0.5-specimens for non-dimensional crack length (a)/(W) in the range of 0.05 to 0. 55 by the experimental method of caustics. The experimental results are in agreement with those of the numerical solution, which shows that the method of caustics is practicable.
