An Approximate Analytical Method for Thick Hologram Gratings

An approximate, intuitive and simple analytical method based on thin grating theory, is presented for the diffraction effect of thick hologram gratings.Neverthless this method leads to the same couple wave equation as Kogclnik H. Therefore, this method is a connective path between thin and thick grating theory.
