An Approach to the Historical Evolution of the Conception of Engineering and Technology

In this paper, the source of the conception of engineering and technology, the historical evolution of their conotations, and their unity on the scientific basis are briefly described. The author expounds emphatically how the conception of engineering changes with the development of modern engineering technology, and how it obtains its modern content. The conditions that the engineering technology as a concept should beprovided with are advanced.
