Abstract
The dynamic characteristics of machine tool's small pillar model are analyzed by the experimental modal analysis method and finite element analysis method. The innate frequency of every period and its corresponding vibration mode of the model are calculated accurately through the combination of the two methods. The modeling error of the finite element analysis method of the model is successfully controlled less than 1.7%, so it can offer a kind of effective analysis means for the finite element modeling of the whole machine including the characteristics of complicated faying face.
