Comprehensive Evaluation of Typical Speed Control Measures on Ordinary Highways

    • According to the deceleration mechanism of three speed control measures, such as speed limit signs, rumble strips and speed hump,a evaluation set is established from two aspects: validity and adaptability. The validity indicator includes the difference between the entrance speed and the passing speed, and the difference between the entrance speed and the exit speed. The adaptability indicator includes heart rate increase and acceleration disturbance. The fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is used to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the speed control measures according to the experimental data that was collected on actual road. Finally, the choice method of the speed control measures based on travel speed is discussed.
