Theoretical and Experimental Study of Axial Flow Fans

Theoretical and experimental study were made of the present axial flow fans, finding a vortex area behind the hub and a flow separation there which reduces the effeciency of fans. Based on the study an improvement is made and the effeciency is raised by 2.8%. The dimen-sionless characteristic curves both before and after the improvement are given out in this paper.
