Abstract
To make the power converter of switched reluctance motor (SRM) continue to maintain the normal power when the open-circuit failure occurs, the effects of main faults of the power converter on motor's performances were analyzed in the environment of Maxwell + Simplorer and a fault tolerant power converter based on asymmetric half-bridge power converter was presented, which can make the device with non-adjacent normal phase bridge instead of faulty devices and effectively isolate the faulty devices.Resultsshow that the power converter has good fault-tolerant performance and can enable the motor to operate normally after failure.
