Abstract
This article obtained the distribution of across-wind fluctuating loads on typical super high-rise buildings by simultaneous pressure measurement in wind tunnel tests, which was the result of combined function of lateral turbulence and wake excitation, and then analyzed the components of power spectra of across-wind loads. The comparison between the analysis result and those from another wind tunnel tests on the same building models using the high frequency force balance technique show that the contribution from the lateral turbulence to across-wind load is relatively small; while the contribution of the wake excitation is dominant in the across-wind loads. The contribution quantities will be varied in different terrain conditions. The present results can explicitly explain the composing mechanism of spectra of across-wind loads on super high-rise buildings.
