Abstract
This paper establishs a link between PID regulators and linear quadratic optimal feedback design for the second-order control systems. A necessary condition in frequency domain is derived for the optimality of a linear multivariable feedback control systen with respect to a quadratic performance index. The results of the determination PID-parameter by assigning optimal poles are extended to general case.
