Application of Data Warehousing Technology to Modularizing Foreign Trade Auxiliary Decision System

In order to implement the quantitative analysis on the foreign trade capacity of China, the auxiliary decision system of foreign trade based on data warehousing has been developed. This system treats the evaluation system of Chinese trade performance as its core, the intact importing and exporting dada of foreign trade as its base, and data warehousing as its key technology. The authors discuss the constitution of the Chinese trade performance index (CTPI) and the systematic structure of this system, and introduce in detail the following contents: how to transfer data from different data sources into data center; how to exploit OLAP (online analytical processing) to build multidimensional dataset to implement the computation of performance indexes, and how to use the technology of report server to issue the computed results in Internet.
