Abstract

To realize the goal of integrating remote heterogeneous databases, the authors introduce the Web Services as well as its characteristics and provides a new Web Services based way to integrate the remote heterogeneous databases. By using Web Services such a brand new distributed computing technology, remote heterogeneous data sources can be connected together to form a virtual database, which can supplies an uniform transparent interface to visit.
