    Measurement of the Elastic Constants and Piezoelectric Moduli of Li2B4O7 Crystal by Brillouin Scattering

    • A brief account of the method of measuring elastic constants and piezoelectric moduli in a ballshaped sample is described first and then the set of results of elastic constants and piezoelectric moduli is given. Our experimental results point out that in the (100) plane the slowest wave is in 0,0,1 direction with a velocity of 5164m/s and the speediest one, in 0,√3/2,1/2 direction with a velocity of 7505m/s. The velocity of sound in 1,0,0 and 0,1,0 directions is 7087m/s.
