Jeismic Behavior of Reinforced Concrete Beams with Crossing Inclined Web Reinforcement

    • Experimental results of seven specimens of reinforced concrete beams with heavy crossing inclined bars in the plastic hinge zones are presented. Data from other six;specimens with conventional web reinforcement tested before are quoted and also taken into consideration. All these specimens were tested under cyclic loading to investigate the effectiveness of the crossing inclined web reinforcement in improving the seismic behavior of the beam and the influence of shear-span ratio, longitudinall top reinforcement and the ratio of nominal shear stress on beam strength. The effect of the reinforcement slippage in the beam is discussed, and some recommendations to the beam are also given.
