Research of Leakage of Manganese in Bio-filters for Simultaneous Removal of Iron and Manganese from Groundwater

Leakage of manganese usually occurs in bio-filters for simultaneous removal of iron and manganese from groundwater is conducted in this paper.The paper argues that reduction of MnO_x by Fe²⁺ causes the phenomenon of leakage of manganese.The reaction is affected mainly by mass of MnO_x,concentration of Fe²⁺ and pH value,and which is promoted while pH value below 5.0 and inhibited while pH value is over 7.5.Released manganese concentrations showed quadratic curve relationship with mass of MnO_x and also Fe²⁺ concentration.
