Abstract
To obtain high-surface-area porous γ-Al2O3,the alco-hydrothermal method was adopted to synthesize plate-shaped wormhole-like mesoporous γ-Al2O3 particles with a face-centered cubic crystal structure, and characterized the physical properties of these materials by means of the X-ray diffraction,N2 adsorption-desorption,scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and selected area electron diffraction techniques. It has been shown that mesoporous γ-Al2O3 particles with the wormhole-like morphology and good crystalinity can be fabricated with aluminum tri-sec-butoxide as the aluminum source,1-propanol aqueous solution as the solvent, and laurie acid as the template (the mass ratio of aluminum tri-secbutoxide to lauric acid=4:1).The surface area of the Al2O3 sample obtained at 600℃calcination was up to 306 m2/g and its average pore diameter was ca.5 nm.
