Abstract
Based on the Graesser's constitutive relations of shape memory alloy,a theoretical model for hysteretie behavior of the SMA-rubber bearing is established.By making numerical calculation with this model, we got the smooth and approximate bilinear force-displacement curves which are similar to those exhibited by the laminated rubber bearings with elastic-plastic hysteretic mechanism.After that,the predicted responses from the model match closely the experimental results.Meantime,the results show that the SMA-rubber bearing displays an evident hysteretic effect,which can be used to limit the extent of bearing displacement.
