Abstract
A new method for introducing nitro group into the secondary carbons of D3-trishomocubane is reported. D3-Trishomocubane-4,7-diol(1) was successfully converted into 4,7-dinitro-D3-trishomocubane (3) by modified Victor-Mayer Reaction. The total yield was increased from 15% to 30% while the previous required 5 steps was reduced to 2 steps.
