    Building of Ideal Dental Crowns Model Based on Reverse Engineering

    • The primary goal of this research is to build ideal crowns model based on reverse engineering, which is the important part of CAD/CAM system for the dental practice. The character of ideal crowns, such as the areas character and part modifiability, will directly influence the quality and efficiency of teeth designs. Based on reverse engineering technology and taking model preparation, data compilation, character extraction and curved face rebuilding as technical process, the authors have built 28 models of ideal crowns, which not only conform to the special physiological qualities of Chinese but also are easy to doctor's final-period edition, resulting in great enhance of the design efficiency of denture.
