Automatic Selection of Matching Areas in Downward-Looking Scene Matching Systems

Researches on the automatic selection of matching areas in the downward-looking matching system were made. A new method for describing scene variant and scene similarity is proposed based on the properties of the downward-looking scene matching algorithm, on which a criterion for the automatic selection is made out. It provides a theoretic principle applicable to mission planning. The results from simulating tests are listed as well.
