Elastic-Plastic Damage Constitutive Model for Concrete Based on Stress-Strain Curve

    • To accurately simulate the mechanical properties of concrete, from the point of view of effective stress, the pressure-damage evolution equations of concrete are deduced, and an elastic-plastic damage constitutive model of concrete is proposed that based on basic principle of continuous damage mechanics and the stress-strain curve of concrete (e. g., improved Saenz curve) . Tests results show that the plastic deformation and stiffness degradation can be well described compared with numerical simulation. This model can well simulate the damage evolution of the concrete bridge pier under earthquake action by simulating the shaking table test of reinforced concrete bridge pier, therefore, the elastic-plastic damage constitutive model of concrete established with this method has significance for engineering application.
