Release Law of Ni, Zn in the Sediments of Taiyuan Fenhe River

    • In order to know the release law of heavy metals and make sure whether it would pollute water, the distribution characteristics of nickel & zinc and their release law were studied. Five forms of that two heavy metals in the sediments were extracted using sequential chemical extraction technique. The results of the experiment indicated that the mainly existence forms of heavy metals in the sediments were metals bound to Fe-Mn oxides and metals hard to dissolve. The amount of exchangeable metals in the sediments was less than other forms. The release law of nickel was the same as that of zinc, but the release capability of nickel was stronger than that of zinc. The sediments had better performance in absorption of heavy metals.
