Patient-specific Finite Element Model Construction of Aortic Arch Aneurysm With Stents for Numerical Simulation

    • In order to make more precise analysis on wall shear stress and gradient variation,it is necessary to create a patient-specific model of aortic arch aneurysm that can perform particular meshing in boundary layer for numerical simulation.Based on a surface model in STL format, reverse engineering concept is adopted to reconstruct a solid model of aortic arch aneurysm by means of integrating CAD software of geomagic and Pro/E,and its simplified stents model is also created.By using ANSYS software, this model is divided into several parts.Particular meshing is performed especially in boundary layer and around the stents. Hemodynamics simulation is carried out by using the finite element model. This solid model can be meshed according to particular requirements in several parts respectively, and employed to simulating hemodynamics in aortic arch aneurysm treated with endovascular stent. The method of modeling is applicable and can be used as a reference for similar model construction.
