Evolution of Human-land Relationship and Sustainable Development of the Rural Settlement

Aiming to the compatible development of human-land relationship during the new rural settlement construction, this paper, according to the different pattern of human civilization, takes a comprehensive analysis on the evolvement of human-land relationship of the settlement by using the theories of architecture and geography, including views on human and land, construction of settlement and some technical methods. Further, it reveals the development tracks of interaction between human and land on various stages， such as primeval society, agricultural society， industrial society and information society. This paper also probes into the sustainable development of rural settlement.
