Abstract
The optimal design approach for structual parameters of the active magnetic bearings is shown. The mathematical model of the bearings is established. By using the penalty function method, the combination of design parameters can be optimized. In this method, the load of the bearings is given, and an objective function is set up for the overall dimension of stiffness or delay time. Examples show that the optimal design is feasiable effective.
