A Car-following Model of Emergency Evacuation Based on Minimum Safety Distance

Based on a questionnaire of drivers' psychological and behavioral reaction under emergency,this pa- per improved the Gipps car-following model and proposed a new emergency evacuation car-following model based on the minimum safety distance.The model contains statistical distribution of drivers' behavioral differ- entia and experiential estimate.Compared with car-following models which were established under normal traffic condition,it can be more really reflecting actual traffic state under emergency evacuation by incorporat- ing drivers' mental and behavioral reaction into model development.
