Computational Investigation of Natural Convective Heat Transfer in A Vertical Parallel Plates Channel with Large Interplates Spacing and Opened Edges

    • Natural convective heat transfer in a vertical parallel plates channel with large large and opened edges was investigated numerically. The computational work encompassed: the width of the channel from 0.015m, the height of the channel from 0.3m to 6.0m. the Ra(Dh/L) value from 110 to 270, 000. The heat transfer results were obtained by numerically solving the equations of mass, momentum, and energy for the physical model given. It was found that the width of the channel has an important infleuence to the flow model. An analysis has been performedto determine the heat flux of convective, radiative, and overall heat transfer, and heat loss through the channel.
