Storage Capacity of Transmission Volume Holograms by Angular Multiplexing

The analytical expressions for angular multiplexed Phase-type transmission volume holograms are derived, based on the coupled-wave theory. They are verified by computer-simulation calculations, which turn out a good agreement between the analysis and simulation. Thus the analytical expressions can be used for estimating storage capacity, considering diffraction limit and geometric restrictions. By comparing the calculated results with the highest storage capacity demonstrated recently, the approaches to enhance the storage capacity are discussed.
