The importance of the treatment of automative exhaust gases has been discussed in this paper. Chemical reactions of the three exhaust gases NO_x CO and HC are analyzed. The main components, assistant agent, coating, supporter and the trendence of development of the three-way-catalyst (TWC) are also reviewed.
