This paper puts forward a new method synthetically applying about diagonal, orthogonal design and tropic process, i.e. DOT method.Experimental result shows that the method can be used to the studying of changing law of cuttign force, cutting temperature and tool life during metal cutting process, improving the accuracy of experimental result, saving time and reducing production cost.
