Abstract
Photovoltaic Noise Barrier (PVNB) is an innovative transportation infrastructure that combines renewable energy generation with noise control measures, providing a dual use of land resources for both solar energy collection and traffic noise reduction. This review summarizes the current status of PVNB research and engineering applications. Firstly, the verification of power generation potential and comprehensive benefit assessment of PVNB are introduced. Secondly, based on the noise reduction principle of noise barriers, the material and configuration design of PVNB as well as the current status for its application are summarized. Thirdly, the strategy of transportation-energy integration and the optimization method of the configuration of the photovoltaic-storage-charging system based on PVNB are discussed. Finally, the constraints facing by the promotion of PVNB are analyzed, and an outlook its future development is made provided. The aim is to provide references for the design and deployment of PVNB in order to promote the application and promotion of clean energy harvesting technologies in road space.
