Comparative Study on Isolation Optimization of Composite Bearings With Friction Dampers

    • To solve the problem of validity and calculation method of a new type of composite isolation bearing with friction damper, this paper studied the finite element method (FEM) calculation model of composite elements for structural design, including horizontal and vertical stiffness and hysteretic model. Using the finite element software SAP2000, and comparing the optimized isolation scheme with the traditional rubber bearing, the seismic performance of high-rise frame-shear wall tube structures with different aspect ratios was studied. Results show that compared with the traditional isolation bearing scheme, the combined isolation bearing scheme can appropriately prolong the natural vibration period of the structure, reduce the lateral displacement of the isolation layer, effectively reduce the tensile stress of the bearing, and improve the overturning resistance and energy consumption of the bearing. It can also effectively reduce the seismic response of the superstructure, such as interlayer shear force and lateral displacement, which proves that the comprehensive effect of the combined isolation bearing scheme is obvious compared with that of the traditional isolation bearing scheme.
