Setting Conditions of Highway Separated Line Between Passenger and Freight Transportation Based on Traffic Simulation

    • To overcome the imperfection of the relevant theories and industry norms of highway separated line between passenger and freight transportation, through the analysis of the basic theory and the status of implementation of domestic and international passenger separation, the concept of highway separated line between passenger and freight transportation was proposed and the study of the adaptability of three types was made. The necessity of the construction of highway separated line between passenger and freight transportation was discussed, and the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and VISSIM simulation was applied to qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results show that when the value of analytic hierarchy process comprehensive evaluation method is more than 5, the implementation of separated line shall be considered. When the traffic volume is less than 3500pcu/h and the freight ratio is less than 30%, the highway is not suitable for the implementation of the separated line. When the traffic volume is greater than 4500pcu/h and freight rate is between 30% and 40%, the highway is suitable for implementation of the separated line and the number of one-way lane is 2. When the traffic volume is greater than 4500pcu/h and truck ratio is greater than 40%, the highway is suitable for implementation of the separated line and one-way bus lane number is 2, and the truck lane number is 3.
