    Earthquake-reduction Design and Experimental Research of Multi-story and High Rise Frame-bent Structure With Braces

    • To improve the seismic performance of the multi-story and high rise frame structure, three kinds of vibration isolation schemes were proposed in this paper based on the energy dissipation technique of BRB (buckling-restrained brace, BRB). Taking a typical multi-story and high rise frame-bent structure with braces as an example, the nonlinear finite element analysis was carried out to quantify the effect of these schemes. The research results show that all these schemes significantly improve the distribution of storey drift angle and seismic performance of the structure, and in which, the scheme of reduced stiffness achieved excellent performance both in economy and security. Verification of the model was carried out by a cyclic loading experiment of 1∶10 models of the frame-bent structure with braces and satisfactory agreement was obtained.
