CWPO Treatment of Transfer Station Leachate With Activated Carbon as Catalyst

    • In order to study the treatment effect of catalytic wet peroxide oxidation (CWPO), the CWPO was applied to deal with the leachate in transfer station with granular activated carbon as the catalyst. The effect of operating conditions were investigated, namely reaction temperature, reaction time, hydrogen peroxide concentration, dosage of catalyst and initial pH. The dissolved organic matter(DOM) of the sample was analyzed by UV-vis spectra and three-dimensional fluorescence spectra(3DEEM). The results show that on the condition of reaction temperature at 200℃ , the reaction time at 120min, 1.8 of the equivalence ratio of H 2O 2, catalyst concentration at 4g/L, initial pH at 7, the removal rate of the COD reaches 85.02%. Meanwhile, the organic matters which contain aromatic nucleus and the conjugate system of double bond and carbonyl can be removed effectively.
