Abstract
In order to understand the control effects on wind-induced vibration of tuning mass damped buckling-restrained brace (TB), TB tuned mass damper design (TB/TMD) was conducted based on a high-rise office building to have been built as a case project. Analysis results obtained by the additional-damping method and wind speed time-stepping method in finite element model show that the maximum apex displacement, maximum inter-story displacement and maximum acceleration of TB structure are 12%~15% and 20% less than those of BRB structure, respectively. According to statistics, the TB structure's pulsing reaction, mean square deviation of displacement and mean square deviation of acceleration are 19.77%, 16.05% and 22.09% less than those of BRB structure, respectively. Comparative analysis of investment-profit performance shows that the TB structure presents obvious advantages of cost effectiveness under similar investment conditions.
